The PPSO SIG Autumn 2005 Conference…

Workshop – Taking the PPSO Forwards

Delivering New Capability To make a step change, we need to have: A “design”, a way of doing things People who can work towards that goal Supporting tools and techniques Today we’re going to have a think about how we put these together.

Process What process do we select or design ? How do we know it will work ? How do we implement it ? How do we optimise it ?

People Do we have the right people and how do we know ? How can we achieve that step change in ability / experience / culture ? How do we manage the changes for individuals ?

Infrastructure What tools and techniques are going to be used ? Do we have existing assets or data we can use ? (How) do we maintain existing infrastructure until we no longer need it ?

The BIG Questions How can we make significant changes quickly ? How can we keep the business running while we change everything ? What comes first – the process, the people or the infrastructure, and in what situations ?

How will we do this? Three groups – look at the letter on your Speed Dating Sheet One hour in your groups to consider the three aspects (suggest 15 minutes per aspect and 15 minutes to pull together themes) Preparation of 5 key findings and up to 2 further questions during tea Each group plays back their findings to the conference – 5 minutes per group
