Leaving the Paper Paradigm Behind

Theme Information governance, or IG, is an emerging term used to encompass the set of multi-disciplinary structures, policies, procedures, processes and controls implemented to manage information at an enterprise level, supporting an organization's immediate and future regulatory, legal, risk, environmental and operational requirements. eRecords and Information Governance, leaving the paper paradigm behind Different industries are starting to adopt Information Governance as a program that encompasses RM, Business, Legal, Security, IT and others. There is a shift in the role of “Directors of Records Management” to “Directors of Information Governance”. The focus is on the entire lifecycle of information. RM is best positioned to place value on information over time in support of information governance.
