Check each of the following items: Make sure that you have each of the following: Name, easy to read, stands out from rest of text Address: correctly written street address on one line city, state and zip code on a second line the state should be: MI Email address appropriate only if you check the email Phone number include area code don’t use parentheses with a dash

Check each of the following: Objective not a complete sentence could start To obtain a part time position To gain employment as To work as a _______ at ______

Check each of the following: Experience Include at least three different experiences Name of the business or project Job title Dates year 2010 month & year Nov. 2010 - Jan. 2011 years 2011- present season & year Fall 2012

Check each of the following: Experience Parallel structure Strong verbs to PRECISELY describe responsibilities or job duties Use proper tense: present or past Each experience matches in tense and type of words: verbs & adjectives

Check each of the following: School Name of school spelled and capitalized correctly List year (junior or senior) or graduation date Graduate May 2014 Descriptions College Preparatory Program GPA if over a 3.0 A.P. classes Other specialty classes: Accounting, CAD, Digital Photography

Check each of the following: Spell check Spacing between each section should match City, State should line up on the right Bold should be used consistently

Lastly Have other people proofread your resume. Ask people to look for spelling, consistent formatting, consistent usage of bold. Ask people to give better wording for experiences if they can think of it.
