Number your sources on the Potential Sources page Choose 6 of the sources you assessed to take notes on and pick them up from the table in front. ***When you return the articles, make sure to put them in the correct pile.

Taking Notes  Once researchers have identified and assessed several sources that have relevant, credible, and accessible information, they begin reading the texts closely. Now you will read the sources closely to determine if a source is truly useful in addressing an aspect of the 3 research questions.

Step 4: Taking Notes by focused questions

Fill in your Inquiry Path notetaking sheets Begin right away! Put one of your three questions on each page Number your sources on the Potential Sources page Carefully read the 6 articles you have chosen and look for parts that will answer your questions. Write down the quotations and what they are from. Record Details and write Commentaries ***When you return the articles, make sure to put them in the correct pile.
