Ceramics Agenda In your Sketchbook – Work on drawing the basic forms Ceramics Agenda In your Sketchbook – Work on drawing the basic forms. Draw each form as it appears in the handout. Each form should also be shaded according to a light source (use an arrow to show where light source is coming from) Make sure you are using a full range of value. Your darkest area should very dark grey. Watch demo from teacher for explanation. Work with pencil for this assignment. Craftsmanship is important. Will be due with Sketchbook at a later date.

Example of Shading a Basic Form with Light Source Rectangular Forms will have the continuous value on each plane of the form. Spherical forms will have value that bends around the form… meaning that it will have a gradual change from light to dark.

Your Assignment: Illustrate 4 elements and 4 principles from the list (on previous page) - Each square should have one element and one principle - NO REPEATS! Process: 1 - Use colored pencils, markers etc. to create your small artworks 2 - Utilize the ENTIRE SQUARE. Make sure your design touches the edges. 3 - Think about CRAFTSMANSHIP >> neatness, quality and care in your work 4 - LABEL each square with the element and principle you are illustrating. Incorporate the name of the element and principle into your design
