From Pockets of Excellence Improving Uneven Performance in Numeracy by Collaborative Good Practice Project leader: Heather Aspinwall

The Project Team

Why collaborative practice? Research findings- show that it is one of most effective forms of CPD for changing what goes on in the classroom Our own experience – tells us it works!

Together we: Identified key topics Planned Delivered Observed Evaluated 3 lessons

We created & tested some new interactive resources

Some of the learners engaged in discussing scale

What has worked well? Planning & Teaching together is inspiring It’s changing our culture – a really positive partnership is developing We’ve got some new resources The students are learning more (deeply?)

What next? Working with our colleagues in engineering & Science Working with teachers of maths in other curriculum areas
