Effects On Lebanon By: Shahan Intisar Starting July, temperature in Lebanon stopped decreasing at night time. Here we are today witnessing an unusual hot weather with 40 degrees temperature at the costs and 43 degrees in Bekaa. Damages to the agricultural sector and electricity crisis increase, according to the experts a result of global climate change caused by global warming which affected Lebanon as it affected the planet. Global warming is spreading very rapidly in Lebanon, the major reasons are more use of air condition, refrigerator and the most dangerous because for more electricity Lebanon’s factories burn more coal for energy and that creates pollution which causes an increase in temperature. Here's how it adds up: A gallon of gasoline weighs just over 6 pounds. When burned, the carbon in it combines with oxygen to produce about 19 pounds of CO2. Adding in the energy that went into making and distributing the fuel, the total global warming pollution is about 25 pounds of CO2 per gallon. . That's a lot of pounds when multiplied by the millions of cars across the country. Heat-trapping pollution, like that from cars and trucks, can stay in the atmosphere for several decades to about a century. For instance, some emissions from Ford's 1912 Model Ts are still up in the atmosphere today, thickening the blanket of greenhouse gases that are heating up the planet. Population growth has helped put more cars on the road, and a strong economy has led to more cars per driver. These trends combined with poor gas mileage mean we're facing a dangerous situation. Effects of pollution By: Hussein There are various types of pollution for example air, water, and land pollution. Pollution is the release of contaminants into the environment. It affects everything in the world and is everywhere it even effects remote places like the arctic. There is nowhere on the planet that is not polluted. Air pollution is the contamination of air by the discharge of harmful substance. Air pollution harms humans. It causes health problems such as burning eyes and nose. There is also more serious health problems that it can cause some chemicals can cause cancer, birth defects, brain, and nerve damage. Air pollution damages the ozone layer that protects us from the harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Air pollution also affects plants it interferes with photosynthesis so the plants cannot properly make their own food. It affects the fruits the plants grow and make them smaller and less nutritious. Cedars of Lebanon By: Nada Fire that broke out in the cedars of Lebanon have destroyed many trees in Lebanon, which caused an increase in the temperature that caused global warming. Also the ski sports of Lebanon have closed down because of the temperature rising. Though Lebanon is only responsible for a tiny fraction of global greenhouse gas emissions, that small percentage is due to the country’s relatively small size, and not a serious nationwide commitment to reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
