Effective partnerships between local Aboriginal communities and member Local Governments Co-chairs: Mrs Diane Singh & Cr Angela Long Inter Council Aboriginal Consultative Committee (ICACC)

ICACC is a partnership between the local Aboriginal Communities and member councils in the southern area of Melbourne. Vision: A community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people are recognised and respected as the first Australians and have equality in health, wellbeing, education and employment opportunities.

Stakeholders: Indigenous groups Federal, State, Local governments Health and education providers Community groups Non Indigenous Communities

Increased awareness and Acknowledgement. Achievements: Flag raising Community forums Acknowledgment statements School activities

Improved equity and access to services. Working with stakeholders and community members ICACC have been able to improve access to: HACC funding Housing services Health services

Community events and celebrations ICACC supports community events and celebrations that promote our vision: Shearwater Festival Bay Mob Health and Education Expo Community events

Cultural awareness and cultural heritage management. ICACC supports members and stakeholders to identify and run: Cultural awareness training Cultural heritage management training Community forums Bush tucker walks

Employment & Training. ICACC supports and promotes the employment of Aboriginal people within member organisations VAEAI Wurreker Award Support for young job seekers
