“The Nurse” important characterizing dialogue: ‘Now, by my maidenhead at twelve year old,’ (2). ‘I’ll lay fourteen of my teeth (and yet, to my teen* be it spoken, I have but four) she’s not fourteen.’ (14-15). ‘quoth my husband. “Fall’st upon thy face? Thou wilt fall backward when thou comest to age, Wilt thou not, Jule?” It stinted and said “Ay.”’ (60- 63).

In Act 1, scene 4 Mercutio is going to: Mercutio: in contrast to Benvolio, Mercutio is never worried about getting into trouble. He is wild and seeks excitement, but also enjoys teasing the other characters. He speaks with fancy language that is full of puns and figurative language.
