Hundred Years War

Causes: Charles IV, King of France, died without an heir (someone to take over as the king). Edward III, King of England, claimed to be the rightful heir. (He was the son of Queen Isabella, previous Queen of France, who was Charles IV’s sister.) France declared Phillip VI King of France. England and France had been fighting for years over land (fiefs).
