With its heritage buildings, trees, parks, boutique shops and cafes, the village of Greytown provides a wonderful location and community for the residents in our care. Established in 1987 as a not-for-profit Community Facility for the benefit of the elderly in the Wairarapa, Arbor House is owned by a Charitable Trust and governed by a Board of Trustees, with members appointed by the District Council, local churches and community service organisations. Incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 Registered Charitable Trust # CC33875 For more information, inspections and enquiries, please contact: Arbor House Manager 48 Main Street Greytown 5712 T: 06 304 9483 E: arbor-house@xtra.co.nz WE BELIEVE that our residents should be treated as individuals, be shown respect and accorded dignity, be given companionship and independence. AND THAT WE SHOULD PROVIDE – through caring and sharing by families, staff, professionals and community, a loving, secure family, and a home-like environment for all.

Supporting Arbor House Set amongst attractive gardens with a magnificent oak tree at the entrance, Arbor House, Rest Home and Hospital, located in the popular, historic, Wairarapa village of Greytown, has much to offer those seeking a friendly, welcoming, secure new home. Supporting Arbor House Arbor House has always been supported by volunteers and members of the local community including the Greytown Trust Lands Trust, the Greytown Lions and Lionesses, Rotary and the local churches. With traditional sources of public funding for aged care gradually becoming eroded, the Arbor House Trust is dependent on ongoing fundraising in order to maintain and upgrade our property and equipment, and enable us to provide better services and facilities to brighten the days of our residents and those we support with day and respite care. Becoming a Friend of Arbor House, volunteering to assist with fundraising, making bequests and donations to the Arbor House Trust, are some ways individual members of the community help the Trust continue its work. As the Arbor House Trust is a registered charity, all donations over $5 can qualify for a tax rebate. To find out more about how you can help, please contact our Manager at Arbor House. Residents are very welcome to furnish their own rooms. All rooms are wired for TV connection and have individually controlled heating. Our hairdresser visits once a week and our Diversional Therapist plans a range of activities to fulfil the residents needs and those folk who enjoy coming to Arbor House for day care. We have regular entertainment and our mobility van takes residents on bus trips for sightseeing in our local area, visiting other rest homes, gardens, movies, and various other events. There are 26 comfortable bedrooms (some with en-suites), a large dining room and two beautiful lounges opening on to spacious deck areas, with sheltered, easily accessed spaces where our residents can enjoy time with family and friends.
