Shi Tianshu, Candidate for UAM President Representing China, I am standing here before you and asking you for support for my bid to become the next UAM President. I am doing so out of my aspiration to contribute to the development of motorcycle sports in Asia.

China, Potential Market for Motorcycle Sports China boasts not only a population of more than 1.3 billion, the largest in the world, but is also a huge market for motor sports and motorbikes. The Chinese Motor Sports Association is a national sporting authority governing all kinds of motorcycle sports in China. CMSA enjoys rich experience in administration and strong support from the government.

Dynamic Economy and Thriving Motorcycle Industry Since the early 1980s, China has witnessed sustained and rapid economic development. China's gross domestic product ( GDP) grew by more than 9.4 percent in The country produced more than 15 million motorcycles in 2005 and exported 3.87 million of them.

Sports Industry Booms in China Thanks to 2008 Beijing Olympic Games China, particularly its capital Beijing, will be the focus of world attention in the coming years as the 2008 Olympic Games will be staged in the capital city. As China is to host the Olympic Games in 2008, many international sports organizations have set up offices in the country. It will maintain close ties and coordination with FIM and carry out work under FIM guidance.
