Solving Harder Linear Equations

The Coin Toss Heads (H) Tails (T) the Variables win the toss! The Variables are playing the Constants and the game is about to begin. When the coin is tossed, it can come up Heads (H) Tails (T) Either way, they’re both letters the Variables win the toss!

Let’s Take the Field! The Variables have won the toss. They elect to take the side of the field where they are strongest. BUT – which side is it? We need to clean up both sides so that we can tell what’s going on!

Let’s Take the Field! Cleaning things up! +4 is bigger than -4. The Variables want the right side of the field.

Let’s Take the Field! Variables to the right. Constants to the left. Remember to swap signs when you hop the =

Let’s see what we really have. Divide last to isolate the variable! Always reduce fractions!

Solving equations is a snap! The Variables always win the coin toss since (H) and (T) are both letters! The Variables elect the side of the field where they are strongest. Figure this out! The Constants have to go to the other side. Combine like terms Divide by the coefficient of the variable. Always reduce fractions! Solving equations is a snap!
