I- Interactions between humans and the environment Natural barriers included: Pacific Ocean, Incan empire, and Atlantic Ocean Amazon River, Rio Grande River Gold, silver, tobacco, diamonds, and animal hides were all important.
C- Cultural--Development and interaction of cultures Catholic church: provided convents as an outlet for women other than marriage. Dominicans, Franciscans, and Jesuits ruled over missionaries and converted many Native Americans.
