Louisa Margaret SMITH b: 6 Oct 1745 d: 16 Feb Received from mother 230 acres on Glade Creek of Roanoke. Bowen was a big man who often wore the championship boxer belt around Maiden Spring Fort which he erected in 1772 in current Tazewell County VA. Jacob Barnett was a Captain in Hamptons Corps according to several veterans. Mrs. Abarilla Wilbanks (who is unable by bodily infirmity to attend in open Court) a resident of the same District and State, aged as near as she can ascertain about Ninety eight years, Pickens District SC, widow of William Willbanks 07Jan1845 FPA R11508 Said that Barnett was killed at Kings Mountain. Otherwise universal accounts state that Barnett was killed at the Battle of Eutaw Springs. Several called themselves refugees who joined Tryon County Whigs to rally to Kings Mountain. Though Barnett was perhaps one of those, it is unclear.

BKM test Berry, Enoch FPA W Oct1832, Warren Co TN, age about 69 years In Aug1780, Berry volunteered for 2 mo under Capt Samuel Wood. Joseph McDowell took the command, only a battalion of us. We march across the mountain and joined Cols Campbell, Sevier, & Shelby who were soon on their way to King's Mountain. McDowell's battalion marched on with them and participated in the Battle. Berry, his father & brother were all engaged in the battle. His father William was killed and his brother Ezekiel was wounded, and died of his wounds shortly after he returned home. The declarant was again marched back to Morganton and discharged.

BKM test Biecknell Thomas Pension application of Thomas Biecknell (Beicknell, Bicknell) R12399 Rachel fn17NC 03Dec1845, Pickens District SC of the Court of Ordinary for the District & State aforesaid, Mrs. Rachel Biecknell age 88, the widow of Thomas Biecknell, Entered under Capt Richard Allen of Wilkes Co NC. Marched under Captain Lanore [sic, William Lenoir], Colonel Cleveland [Benjamin Cleveland] & Colonel Hearne [sic, probably Benjamin Hearn], but it is impossible forher to state the particulars. That her husband the said Thomas Biecknell was wounded with an ounce ball in his hip in the Battle at Kings Mountain. He was carried to Burke County near Morganton, to the house of Mrs. Bowman, where declarant went and waited upon him with his wound eleven weeks, at the end of which time he died..
