Visual analysis of images By Karley

Picture 1 I also found this of the internet, I believe this image has an approximate horizontal symmetry, t has a flowing rhythm, it has a wide range of proportion. I would say this image is sub-dominant because because even though it captures one certain thing you still get lost in the background. There is also positive space in this image, as there is bright colors and a really nice texture. I love this image because it really sets a calm feeling and its such a beautiful picture and its got really vibrant colors and a great focus. http://designbump.com/sunset-wallpapers/ Last accessed on 17th October 2015. Design Bump.

Picture 2 I also found this image from the internet, I really love this image and the colors it portrays are really autumn colors. The rhythm for this would be a progressive type of rhythm as there is so much going on. This image I would also say is sub-dominant. There is also positive space in this image due to everything that’s going on it. The colors in this image are very vibrant and really stand out and the image as a whole looks great. http://thefabweb.com/65340/sunset-paradise-on-earth-part-2/ Last accessed on October 17th 2015. Last accessed on 17th October 2015. Detroit’s new rock alternative. Picture 3 This picture is one I found of the internet, I really like this picture because its unique and really stands out to me. This picture has horizontal symmetry as you can tell, if you split it in halve this image would reflect the same on both sides. The rhythm of this picture is more regular, it also has a great proportion. It is the most dominant part of the image as the main focus is her face. There’s a lot of positive space in this image by that I mean you have a lot of color in the background. This image also probably had the rule of third used for it. This image is really bright and colorful and really stands out and is really unique. http://www.89xradio.com/Events/Concerts/Melanie-Martinez Last accessed on 17th October 2015. Last accessed on 17th October 2015. Autumn oil paintings. Picture 4 http://wallpapers-xs.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/autumn-oil-paintings.html Last accessed on 17th October 2015. Autumn oil paintings. This image has a radial symmetry, also has a large proportion. This picture is also sub-dominant. It has a lot of positive space in this image. It really has a lot going on, the colors are a really great choice, really autumn like, and really well painted.

Picture 4 When doing this task I asked questions to a few people I know these questions where ones like 1) What do you like about this image? 2) What do you dislike about this image? 3) What stands out to you the most? By doing this I was using primary research and secondary research because of the way I had to research and reference the images also. The feedback I got for my images where that they were unique, vibrant, colorful, calming, some where creepy, some where really well took and really portrayed a feeling. Some people didn’t quite like the picture of the girl as it was fairly creepy and set a weird kind of feeling but people said they’re favorites were picture 1 as it was really calming and pretty.
