TOSS PLAY C = CREATE (We must create a gap at the point of attack) This simple play can be the best if properly executed. C = CREATE (We must create a gap at the point of attack) P = PULL (Get as many people as possible at the point of attack) P = POP (The runner must “pop” Through the point of attack)

Roots of the Double Wing Double Wing Strengths Balanced Simple in design/easy to install Works well with power and misdirection Great results Double Wing Weakness Limited play options Have to coach motion routes (wingbacks) Communication without offensive lines between backs

Unbalanced I Stack Strengths Formation will allow strength of numbers Element of surprise (first sound) Create mismatch at P.O.A Run a complete offense: Toss Sweep X-Toss Pass

Why Run It? Get more bodies at the P.O.A With formation and play (TOSS) Beat the defense with the MOST (Formation and play) FIRST (1st sound)

Coaching Points MINDSET your players need to believe that this offense is UNSTOPPABLE and they take OWNERSHIP of it. PERSONNEL they are the “baddest player on the field,” only the best most physical can be on the team. Best run blocker, best kick out blocker, best downhill runner. ALIGNMENT OL foot to foot, FB aligns inside shade of and one yard behind the T.E. The FB is two to three feet behind the FB. RB is four to five yards in the “I” position. Huddle after the play is called the offense SPRINTS to the L.O.S run the play on first sound. (This must be practiced repeatedly/set tempo.) PLAYS (complete offense) Toss Sweep X-Toss Pass

ALIGNMENT GREEN BLACK TE OG C OG OT OT TE QB FB BB RB TE OT OT OG C OG TE FB BB QB RB .

UNBALANCED I STACK GREEN TOSS BASIC RULES: Down block on L.O.S Kick out edge Pull as many players thru gap Run down hill at the gap .

UNBALANCED I STACK GREEN SWEEP KEY POINTS: FB: Seal DE w/ assist from BB BB: Assist in containing outside w/ FB POG/POT: Pull as in JET SWEEP QB: Toss to RB and pull RB: Step laterally get outside .

UNBALANCED I STACK GREEN X-TOSS BASIC RULES: Trap first person outside of weak side T.E. Keep the rule similar to your X-Toss now FB aim inside of the pulling OT head up the hole BB protect inside RB “cheat up” step to the right. Sell inside handoff from QB. Get behind FB QB Sell toss. Inside handoff. Boot .
