In the Atom Game

Be the first to get rid of all of your marbles. How to Win… Be the first to get rid of all of your marbles.

How to Play… Each player gets 7 of each color marbles. You can only play 1-5 marbles per turn. You will build a Bohr model of an atom. You will be building off of the atom that is already on the board. (Don’t remove the marbles from the board!!!) Use isotopes as well as regular atoms!!! Sometimes you can skip to the next isotope or even to the next atom to make a better move!!!

How to Play… After building your atom you MUST announce what you have built!!! Challenging… If you think another player has built the atom incorrectly you may challenge, BUT be careful… if you challenge and it is correct you have to take 4 marbles from the bank!!! If you are correct then the other player has to take the marbles they used for that turn back and they lose their turn.

The Bank When you don’t have a move, you may go into the bank (the box of marbles) and take only what you need to make a move! When you can’t make a move, even with help from the bank…YOU WIN!

H Mass numbers 1,2 Atomic # 1 Everyone gets 7 blue, 7 striped, 7 clear Blue = Protons Striped = Neutrons Clear = Electrons Play 1-5 marbles per turn. Mass numbers 1,2 Number of neutrons and protons H Subtract the two to find the number of neutrons Atomic # 1 Number of protons and electrons

He Mass numbers 3,4 Atomic # 2 So which is the better move..He-3 or He-4? He-4 because you use more pieces. Mass numbers 3,4 Number of neutrons and protons He Subtract the two to find the number of neutrons Atomic # 2 Number of protons and electrons

Li Mass numbers 6,7 Atomic # 3 So which is the better move..Li-6 or Li-7? Li-7 because you use more pieces. Mass numbers 6,7 Number of neutrons and protons Li Subtract the two to find the number of neutrons Atomic # 3 Number of protons and electrons

Be Mass numbers 9 Atomic # 4 We were able to skip Be and do a better move with Boron. Blue = Protons Striped = Neutrons Clear = Electrons Mass numbers 9 Number of neutrons and protons Be Subtract the two to find the number of neutrons Atomic # 4 Number of protons and electrons

B Mass numbers 10,11 Atomic # 5 Blue = Protons Striped = Neutrons We were able to skip Be and do a better move with Boron. Blue = Protons Striped = Neutrons Clear = Electrons Mass numbers 10,11 Number of neutrons and protons B Subtract the two to find the number of neutrons Atomic # 5 Number of protons and electrons
