SECTION XVIII - XXI

SECTION XVIII This section covers three chapters 90, 91 and 92 Each chapter covers a specific group of products unrelated to those covered by the other chapters of the section. This Section covers optical, photographic, measuring, medical instruments and apparatus; clocks and watches, musical instruments; parts and accessories thereof  

Chapter 90 This Chapter covers a wide range of instruments and apparatus as categorized below : Optical instruments and apparatus of heading 90.01 to 90.17(such as spectacles; cinematographic cameras, surveying, meteorology, microscopes and drawing apparatus , among others).

Chapter 90 Cont… Instruments and apparatus for medical, surgical, and related applications such as radiology, mechano-therapy, orthopedic , among others(90.18 to 90.24) Measuring, checking, precision and automatic regulating and controlling instruments( 90.25 – 90.32)

Chapter 90 Cont.. This chapter also covers parts and accessories of the instruments and apparatus covered in this chapter (parts and accessories not specified or included elsewhere in this chapter)of heading 90.33

CHAPTER 91 This chapter covers; Apparatus designed mainly for measuring time or for effecting some operation in relation to time( heading 91.01 to 91.14).For example: watches and stop-watches clocks including motor vehicles clocks time recording apparatus; among others Also covers parts of these articles

Chapter 92 This chapter covers: Pianos and other keyboard stringed instruments; Wind musical instruments; Percussion musical instrument; Musical boxes, fairground organs; Also covers parts of these articles.

SECTION XIX This Section covers arms and ammunition of all descriptions; parts and accessories thereof. It covers chapter 93 only.

Chapter 93 This Chapter covers: Arms of all descriptions for use by; military armed forces or by the police Other organized services e.g. customs, frontier guards, etc. private persons

Chapter 93 Cont… In particular, this chapter covers artillery weapons(e.g. guns) of heading 93.01 Revolvers and pistols of heading 93.02 Parts and accessories of articles of heading 93.01 to 93.04, Bombs, grenades etc.. Of heading 93.06 Swords, bayonets, etc.. Of heading 93.07

Chapter 93 Cont.… This chapter does not cover goods of chapter 36( e .g percussion caps, detonators, signalling flares; bows, arrows and fencing foils or toys of chapter 95), armoured railway vehicles of chapter 86, tanks and armoured cars of 87.10, military aircraft and warships of heading 88.01 and 89.06 respectively; among others.

Section XX This Section covers three chapters (94, 95 and 96 ) It covers a very wide range of goods and products such as furniture and beddings, lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; It also covers illuminated name-plates and the like, games and sports requisites , parts and accessories thereof; miscellaneous manufactured articles.

Section XX Cont… Special features of the section. Goods grouped in one chapter of the section do not necessarily have anything in common with other goods classified in the two other chapters

Chapter 94 This chapter covers: Furniture; Bedding, mattresses, mattress supports and similar stuffed furnishings; Lamps and lighting fittings; Illuminated signs, illuminated name plates and the like; Prefabricated buildings and parts thereof not elsewhere specified or included.

Chapter 95 This chapter covers: Toys of all kinds; Games and sports requisites; Appliances and apparatus of sports for certain requisites for fishing, hunting or shooting and other fairground amusements; Also covers parts and accessories of these articles.

Chapter 96 This chapter covers various unrelated articles. The articles are grouped together regardless of their constituent materials.

Chapter 96 In particular, this chapter covers: certain requisites for smokers (heading 96.13); certain sanitary articles (heading 96.19); and various other articles not more specifically covered by other headings in the nomenclature.

Chapter 97 Cont… This section covers chapter 97 only. The chapter covers: Works of art( heading 97.01 to 97.04) Collectors' pieces( 97.05 ) And antiques (97.06)
