What do we mean by Level 3? A levels are Level 3 qualifications Applied A Levels are also Level 3 qualifications

Entry Requirements 5 or more GCSEs at grade 4 including at least a grade 4 in English and Maths For certain subjects a grade 6 or above is non-negotiable (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths, MFL and Computing)

Structure of A Levels Two year course Most students do 3 A Levels and the Extended Project Qualification (which is an AS Level) Some students can opt to do 4 A Levels Pass grades - A* to E

Destinations for Current Year 13 Students 70% are applying to University 30% are applying for apprenticeships – majority of applications are for Higher Level Apprenticeships

Raising Aspirations – Your Future Begins Here Non-Qualification Activities Dream Placement – 15 students offered placements in a variety of organisations (one of the highest cohorts from west Cumbria) EES – Engineering in Education Scheme Science residential at Queen’s College Oxford Cambridge University Fitzwilliam Shadowing Scheme Durham supported progression scheme – 5 students who applied were successful. They will be given a lower offer for their course University partnerships – Oxbridge, Newcastle, Northumbria, Edgehill and Cumbria Established links into higher level apprenticeships including GEN 2

Complete your online application form which is on our website by: 14th December 2018 (internal students) 13th February 2018 (external students) One-to-one consultations with sixth form staff Taster Day in June Results Day in August with interview to finalise A Level choices Students have a three week period from the September start date in which to request a change to their A Level options
