Working with text Powerpoint strengthens the power of your point. It does not replace you. Be brief: few lines, few words, point-form and clear graphics Avoid big chunks of text Use the recommended themes (colours) provided Use Calibri font Use green text (sparingly) for emphasis – the RGB values for our green are: R178 G187 B30 Try not to use more than two levels of bullets 19/05/2019
Working with text This is a non-bulleted line; use as subtitle This is a bulleted line, use it as body text (26 pts) This is a sub-bullet; use it as the smallest text (22 pts) Try not to go smaller than this; if you do you might face visibility problems Use green bullets (embedded in the template) Be consistent with upper and lower case text 19/05/2019
Working with this template Your presentation and the image of Douglas College are strengthened by following a few simple rules: Use only the default background Don’t crowd your slides, the overall look is as important as the content Avoid gimmicky animations, sounds and clip art. They detract from the professionalism of your presentation. 19/05/2019
Photos Simple image treatments are best To format an image, right click on it and choose Format Picture The image on the next slide has a 1.5 pt green border from the themes colour palette Be consistent throughout your presentation Pictures can cause file size to increase dramatically. Keep file sizes small by first selecting the image, then in the top Format menu, choose Compress Pictures. 19/05/2019
