Drill 4/30 Now that you’ve started thinking about your persuasive speech, let’s consider note cards. Why is it a good idea to use note cards for your speech? What do you think you should include in a note card that you’ve created for your speech? Why is it a bad idea to have too many note cards?

Wednesday, April 30th Agenda: Mini-Lesson on Note Cards. Work on Note Cards. Sign up for Speech Times Homework: Finish Your Note Cards Practice Your Speech! Speeches Begin on Friday, May 2nd.

Logos, Pathos, Ethos Logos Pathos Ethos An appeal to logic and reason An appeal to emotional reaction. Ethos An appeal based on your own credibility.

Learning Targets I can organize the content of the persuasive essay into an outline for an effective speech. I can use symbols, abbreviations, capitalization, chunky spacing, and highlighted words to make effective glance-and-go note cards. I can implement the methods of logos, pathos, and ethos into my argument in order to strengthen it.
