Advanced R&D Lab Review 8 Oct 2002

Objectives give an overview of the activities and people doing R&D to get a one-time snapshot of the status of our efforts update our medium-term planning, and to ensure that we have the means -- human and otherwise -- to carry out the research. get some preparation out of the way for our NSF review (23-25 October)

Presentations Current status: what is happening now or recently finished. Really brief -- a reminder only. Plans for 2003: what are the principal activities, and accomplishments, planned for 2003? Technical Risks and opportunities: what is technically scary? What new ideas not in the plan might we pursue? Schedule issues: what is going too slowly, what is faster than thought, how are interacts with other activities? Cost baseline and issues: what do we expect to expend this year (not a guess, something backed up with a spreadsheet)? anything changed? anything uncertain? Staffing baseline and issues: who is working how much on this effort? enough people? right skills?
