What is Sportsmanship? a commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity. …losing without complaint and victory without gloating …treating others as you wish to be treated and respect others and one's self …self-control, courteous, and accepting results of one's actions …being a good citizen.

Positive Sporting Behavior Tips * If you make a mistake, do not pout or make excuses. Learn from it, and be ready to continue to play. * If a teammate makes a mistake, offer encouragement, not criticism. * If you win, do not rub it in. * If you lose, do not make excuses.

Practice Positive Sporting Behaviors Learn your sport Be polite Stay Cool Avoid disputes with violence Cheer your teammates on Acknowledge and applaud exceptional plays Respect Officials Reaction – win or lose

Is Winning Everything? "Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character.

Positive Role Models Who are the role models inside and outside of the sporting arena. What are the characteristics associated with positive role model – someone who displays positive sporting behaviors.
