Policies & Procedures We will provide each student with a planner that lists all rules and procedures in detail. Please read them with your child before the first day of school. We are very optimistic about this year and are looking forward to working with you and your child.

Planners/Class Dojo– These are our basic methods of communication Planners/Class Dojo– These are our basic methods of communication. I often write notes to let you know how well your child is doing in this classroom (other teachers also write comments in the planner/Class Dojo). Your child will also write his/her homework down daily in the planner. Please make sure to check the planner daily and sign that you have seen it. Your child should have his/her planner signed each day, as needed.

Red Devil Folders – Every Tuesday, it is required by the school that your child’s work for the past week be sent home in his/her Red Devil Folder. Please look over the papers with your child, sign the folder and return any papers on the return side to school the next day.

Tardies, Check-In & Check-Out A student is tardy to school when he/she is not in homebase at 7:45 a.m. Students who are tardy must sign in through the office. For a tardy to be considered excused the parent must present a note from a doctor, dentist, or court official. Students who accumulate excessive tardies to school each semester may be subject to the following action: 5 Tardies – Letter to parent 8 Tardies – Office referral and phone call to parent 10 Tardies - Office referral and 1 day ISSP

Student Drop-off/Pick-up – Students should arrive NO EARLIER than 7:10 AM and should report directly to the cafeteria or Gym. All students should be dropped off at the back of the campus by the gym. Students will be released to class at 7:35 AM. The tardy bell will ring at 7:45 AM. Students must be in class before the tardy bell rings. If a student is tardy, he/she should report to the office for a tardy pass.

Please learn your route and Bus Driver’s name ASAP (the 1st day). Students will be dismissed at 2:45. Parents may begin to line-up at designated pick-up areas at 2:30, not before. The 6th grade pick-up area is located at the 400 building by the green canopy that faces Stadium Drive. The 7th grade pick- up area is located by the gym (same as morning drop-off area). PLEASE DO NOT drop-off or pick-up students in front of the school by way of our main entrance. This is reserved for buses. Also, if you must check-out your child early, please make sure to arrive BEFORE 2:30. All check- outs must be completed by 2:30 so that we may prepare for dismissal. Only those persons on the approved contact list filled out at registration, with a PICTURE ID will be allowed to check-out a student.

Student Cell Phones –Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school at your own risk. Cell phones, however, should stay off and out of sight during the regular school day unless instructed by a PCIS staff member to do otherwise. Other electronic devices should not be brought to campus.

Appropriate Student Dress A student’s school clothes will consist of clothing that is neat, clean, and appropriate for school wear (appropriate refers to clothing that covers the body sufficiently enough not to cause undue attention of school officials and/or other students). The principal or designee will make the final judgment as to whether or not a student is dressed appropriately for school. Students will not be allowed to attend class until dressed appropriately. Please refer to Student Handbook.

Consequences 1st Verbal Warning 2nd Silent Lunch 3rd Phone call or note home and /or After School Detention 4th Office Referral

Thanks!
