Usually the top or bottom of the iris is hidden.

Drawing eyelashes…

Eyelashes Are curved. Are unevenly spaced. Grow in many different directions, mostly outward from the eyelids. Are rendered with lines of different lengths. Appear thicker closer to the eyelids. Grow from the outer edges of the upper and lower eyelids and not the white of the eye. Are drawn in groups rather than single lines. Gradually become longer and thicker toward the outer corner of the eye.

EYEBROWS Look at a reference of your eyebrows when drawing them. What are unique about your eyebrows? Look at the direction the hairs are growing on each of your eyebrows. Sometimes they grow up and sometimes to the side.
