Children, Young People and Parents Mental Health Engagement A map of all groups supporting Children, Young People and Parents across Newcastle and Gateshead has been completed. Involving Children, Young People and their Parent/Carers Catherine Horn Portfolio Manager, Children, Young People and Families Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group

Children, Young People (CYP) and Families Team Dr David Jones, Clinical Director CYP & Families david.jones3@nhs.net Dr Kate Cushing, Clinical Lead for CYP & Families kate.cushing@nhs.net Catherine Horn, Portfolio Manager, CYP & Families catherine.horn@nhs.net Jayne Lofthouse, Team Administrator, CYP & Families

Overview of the CYP & Families workload Early Intervention/Prevention Little Orange Book Improving access to primary care Emotional wellbeing and Mental Health Single Point of Access Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Maternity Services Schools Year 9 assemblies Persistent Absenteeism Really broad areas of work, however the common theme is that we effectively engage with CYP & Families in all of our work

We need your help! To engage more with Children and Young People and their families We need to understand how they feel about services what their experience has been where can we improve new ideas For the purpose of this exercise we want to focus on how we involve CYP&F who are or have been involved in the SEND process

Over to you! Who do we need in the basket? What will help the project take off? What will hold us back? On your tables you will see you have a picture of a hot air balloon. For this exercise we want you to explore Who we need to get on board What needs to be in place for the effective engagement of CYP&Families What might hold us back What do we need in place to ensure a positive experience for CYP& their families What might prevent the engagement being successful
