Digital Identity

Google the website “Discovery Education Canada” and use the following login information: Username: mmaxwellac Password: discovery Use the SEARCH feature and find Henry’s Story Digital Identity Watch the video. He tells you what MOTIVATES him to change his identity online. His MOTIVATION is a desire to be “treated like an adult without having to prove himself. He wants his ideas not his physical appearance to be judged.”

Choose ONE scenario on the green paper on the front desk Choose ONE scenario on the green paper on the front desk. (you may have to return the green sheet of paper if there are other students choosing this option) Answer the following (by email OR in written form with your name on it) 1) What motivates this person to present himself or herself differently online? (at least 1 motivating factor) 2) What are the possible consequences (at least 3) of the person’s actions? (Good, bad or no consequences are possible) How do you think it might end up affecting the person? How might it affect other people? Do you think it is okay to present a different identity in this situation? Why or why not?

The expectation is an email or written submission including: Response to ONE of the 10 scenarios given on the green slips on the front table

Eating For Fitness We should aim to be fit. Health Canada says that for your age that means 60 minutes of exercise that raises your heart rate at LEAST 6 times per week. Do you exercise too much? Too little? Both can be problems. If you are interested, check out a mathematical way to calculate whether your mass is within the recommended for your age called BODY MASS INDEX on the next slide. It is always best to ask your doctor for advice but this is a quick guide. This step is completely optional. You need to know your height and your mass (weight) to calculate your BODY MASS INDEX (which tells you if you are within the recommended range for your age).
