Factors affecting the development of an individual

Case Study activity Hannah is a 12 year old girl in Foster Care. She attacked two girls at school with a kitchen fork. Her statements below were made by a social worker “They made me angry, I had to get them back” “Don’t know why they made me angry….I just was” “Its just the way I am.. I cannot stop it” What Biological/ Social and Environmental factors (p2) might have influenced her to be aggressive? Do you think Hannah could have chosen to be aggressive? Explain

This is P2 and P3 P2- Life factors affecting your celebrity P3- Predictable and unpredictable events Task 1   In order to complete P2 in chapter two of your fact file write a report that clearly states how 5 life factors have influenced the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of the individual. This provides evidence for P2 Task 2 In order to achieve P3 in chapter two of your fact file write an article that explains how two predictable and two unpredictable life events have influenced the development of your celebrity. In concluding this chapter assess whether your celebrity was most effected by the predictable or unpredictable events. This provides evidence for P3

Starter Use your two handouts to find any links between your celebrity’s chosen life…. Factors & Events Highlight/annotate to show this

P2 and P3 Will be evidenced through one magazine article Lets look at the handout

Task Look at the magazine/newspaper article Note down the language/layout features What is the purpose of each feature

Features of an article 1. Headline 2. Sub-heading 3. Image 4. Caption 5. Opening paragraph 6. Columns

Crisis Drama Clash Fury Battle Row Headlines Newspaper headlines are designed to attract the reader’s attention. ● Use dramatic or emotional words, such as: Crisis Drama Clash Fury Battle Row ● Alliteration – ‘Pick up a Penguin’ ● Puns – ‘Kentucky Freed Chicken’ (Jokes) ● Rhymes/half rhymes – ‘St Helen’s Glass has the class’ ‘Beanz Meanz Heinz’

Task- MWB Try to think of headlines to make readers want to read these stories: High exam results at Bhasvic. A huge storm over Brighton. A footballer’s shorts fall down during an important game. Try to use a range of techniques- such as alliteration, puns, full and half-rhyme.

Newspaper Articles- the opening paragraph What? Who? When? Where? Why? Why does the opening paragraph include all of this?

Have a go…… At writing an opening paragraph for your article on your celebrity Introduce – (if possible) Who, What, Where, When and Why Try to use engaging and descriptive language

Fact Vs opinion Look at your handouts (life factors and events) Create the following table for your celebrity Fact Opinion Tom Hardy has pet dogs and puts photos of them on social media Tom hardy is strongly attached to his dogs because he is a big softy.
