How to approach the case study? Remember, you just got 10 minutes to read the case study! Follow my simple technique, and it will help you to understand the case study faster and easier.

8 Simple techniques What does the company do? ( What Business?, Manufacturing, Hospital, Pharmacy, Government Department e.t.c) What are the different departments of the company mentioned in the case study? ( eg. What are the current processes in the organisation( how company doing business now?) Name of the company

Now, remember few important points for the examination. First question carries 50 marks! So, you must put all your effort in doing that. Draw diagrams while explaining, it would help you to impress the marker. Never waste, a single minute during the examination. NCC may use terminologies such as IT/IS interchangeably. Sometimes it will be mentioned as initiative or application, whatever, remember it is I.S.

Check, if you know the use, impact and the scope of the following applications. ERP Scanner CRM CAD/CAE DSS Transaction processing systems e-Commerce Office automation systems e-business Order management systems KM FIS(Financial Management) Intranet Administrative management systems Extranet Social networks Computer –aided manufacturing Community SCM(Supply Chain Management) Forums EPOS RFID Bar-coding

There is a known secret in all questions papers ! All case studies will be discussing about an organisation, which plan to implement a new IS/application/initiative to handle the problems, improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance customer satisfaction e.t.c.
