Warm-up 1/23/2019 Please take the following survey: https://goo.gl/forms/QeVvj0DOFGi6Dy0A3 Once you are finished then start this warm-up on your own paper. Your homework should be on the corner of your desk to be checked!  State the Pythagorean theorem. Also write down everything you remember about this formula. Find the missing side in each of the following right triangles. DO NOT ROUND YOUR ANWERS! Leave them as exact irrational numbers if needed. 12 cm 13 cm

Leaping lizards!

Let’s discuss! 

Discovery of reflection and rotation rules With your group complete the reflection and rotation discovery sheet. Be sure to read all directions very carefully! You may choose the same points as other members in your group. The goal of this activity is to collaboratively work through the directions and then use your critical thinking skills to write out the rules. There should be mathematical discussion of what is happening within the activity. You only have 15 minutes so do not waste your time! 15 minutes

Rotating around points that are not the origin! Since the rules we have are for rotating about the origin, we will use a slightly different technique for rotating around all other points… Say we want to rotate ∆𝐵𝑆𝐿 90° about the point 1, −1 … Any ideas??

Try this one! Rotate ∆𝐻𝑈𝐹 180° around the point (-1, -2).

These are today’s take-away words! Pre-Image Image Translations Reflections Rotations
