Monday Bell Ringer & Agenda: Define a tableau. Get a computer. Get into groups from Friday. Bell Ringer Radio Drama Work Don’t forget: You need a copy of your book TODAY! If you have it, show it to me. If not, last day to get a copy is Friday (you will have half the class time to read). Again, if you need help selecting a book, please see me TODAY!!

Radio Drama: Radio drama (or audio drama, audio play, radio play, radiotheater, or audio theater) is a dramatized, purely acoustic performance, broadcast on radio. Get into a group of 3. Then go to the following website: http://www.thematzats.com/radio/ Read the introduction and task. Then complete steps one – three. For step three, write down what you find out. Timeline is due at the end of class today!

Radio Drama Go to the following website: http://www.thematzats.com/radio/ Complete step three. Timeline was due yesterday!! For step three, read the links and explain (on a sheet of paper) what your job will require. The websites will help guide you. You might have to search through the link’s site. The answer is not right there. You have today to finish the timeline (if not finished) and read through your links. We MUST move on tomorrow!

Warm Up: Tongue Twister Red Leather: Yellow Leather Toy Boat Unique New York

Warm Up: Partner Sound Effects With a partner, go through a few of the sound effects and make the sounds with a partner How many can you make in 3 minutes?

Warm Up: Soundscape Volunteer to go first? First person makes a noise, repeatedly. Each person will then add to that noise one at a time. What mood can our noise create? What setting would you place it in?

Duck in a Truck I will read Duck in a Truck to you first. Then, in your group, you will add sound effect to the story. Write them in and show them to Ms. Webster. Don’t forget to add a commercial into your recording! You will then record it using Audacity. I need to show you the basics for Audacity Get in a group and log into ONE computer. PRACTICE BEFORE YOU RECORD! (everyone needs to be in the audio file)

Project: Summative You will create a Radio Drama script using one of Dr. Suess’s books. You can also create one of your own for bonus points. Directions/Tips Pick a book from the table. Read through it with your group. With Post-It notes, add sound effects that would work with the book. Write a script that includes everyone in your group Need characters (Readers) and sound effects Practice a few times before using Audacity. Record & save using Audacity.
