Ms. Good’s Class Classroom Newsletter October 24, 2016 Classroom News Dates to Remember Wednesday, October 26 Early Release 2:00 Thursday, October 27 Trunk or Treat 5:30-7:00 Friday, October 28 Book Orders Due Dress Down $1.00 Theme: Favorite Sweatshirt Classroom News Supplemental Surveys If you have not completed the Supplemental Survey, I am sending an additional copy home today. These surveys are critical, as they impact grant money we receive at PACE. Schoolwide, we are still missing a lot of surveys, amounting to $93,584 that we will not receive. Please, please return these surveys so we can capture these funds. Fall Harvest We will be having a Fall Harvest on Monday, October 31. If you are interested in making a donation, we are in need of the following: apple cider, donuts, plates, and cups. Please contact me to make a donation. What We’re Learning This Week Spelling Words all tall call not fall top wall much ball thank Test Friday, Oct 28 What We’re Learning This Week Reading: Digraphs /sh/ and /th/, Beginning, Middle, and Ending, Characters Spelling/Phonics: -all words Writing: Handwriting (g, o), Story About Me, Sequencing Words, Capitalization, Friendly Letter Math: The Commutative Property of Addition and the Equal Sign, Addition Fluency Social Studies: Fairness Science: Weather Tools, What to Wear Other Information Here Halloween Costumes Please be aware that first grade students CANNOT wear costumes on Halloween. Additionally, students participating in the Trunk or Treat must wear a uniform to school, and then change into their costumes after school. Dress Down This Friday, October 28 will be a dress down day. The cost is $1.00. Students must match our theme, which is Favorite Sweatshirt! Notes on Homework Homework goes home on the first day of each week and is due the first day of the following week. Homework must be in your child’s handwriting. Reading each night is required. Specials Schedule Monday, Wednesday, Friday AM - Music PM – Graphic Art Tuesday, Thursday AM – STEM PM - Gym
