Youre on a Quest for Money!!! Webquest made by: Rachel Yohannes & Denise Hingre Introduction Tasks Process Evaluation Resources ConclusionIntroductionTasksProcessEvaluationResourcesConclusion

**Introduction** Have you ever wondered what its like to have your own money ? Did you wish money grew on trees? Ever wanted to spend endless amounts of money but wonder where youd get it from? – Well, here you will find out all of your answers and hopefully learn more information about money as well. Lets get started!!

Your Tasks Task One: You will create a timeline by choosing 5 historical events from each century listed. You will include the date and historical significance for each item listed. Task Two: Visit the websites listed on the resources page and complete at least three of the activities. You will use the Internet to help you become more familiar with money and where money comes from. You will be learning about the history of money, the different types of money, and why its important to save money as well.

Process: There are numerous steps in your quest for money…. Step 1 - Rubric: Review the rubric to see how you will be evaluated and graded for each task at: Evaluation. Step 2 – Passport book: You will be making a passport book to get stamped on your quest for money!! Step 3 – Webquest Tasks: You will be visiting various websites provided on this webquest to complete activities and quizzes.

Process, Contd: After each website activity that you complete, you will need to come to Ms. Yohannes/Mrs. Hingre and get your passport book stamped with a coin. Once you have collected $5 dollars, you may complete the final challenge.

Passport Each person will receive their own passport. You will decorate the front of it and make it your own using the knowledge you have gained about money. As you complete each task, you will bring it to either Ms. Yohannes or Mrs. Hingre and have us check it. Depending on the quality of the work, you will receive a stamp for.50 cents, $1.00, or $2.00. You must obtain at least $5.00 in order to get your final assignment. **Remember to be very creative when decorating your passport. Show your knowledge of money. Have fun!!!

Rubric 1.Passport Book: Student shows knowledge and facts of money in creating their front cover. 2.Task # 1: Student shows knowledge of money history, and includes all dates and reasons of significance as instructed in timeline. 3.Task # 2: Student has visited the listed websites and has completed at least 3 activities from the sites and printed the necessary paperwork. Evaluation Students will be evaluated on this WebQuest using the following rubric. Please review the rubric before beginning so you may work towards your set goal.

The Final Challenge Put together all of your work in a portfolio. This includes: Your passport book All of your worksheets/quizzes Your timeline The rubric **Present it to Ms. Yohannes & Mrs. Hingre so they can keep it safely in their bank, until it is time to showcase all of your talents!!!**

Conclusion Upon completing this WebQuest, students will have: Gained knowledge about the history of money Learned the different types of currency in the U.S. Learned what their money personality is Learned why it is important to save money Completed activities counting and using money to buy things
