Student Apartment community council (SACC)

Who are we? We are UCSB’s student government for the university-owned undergraduate apartments. Santa Ynez, El Dorado, Westwinds, Sierra Madre and San Joaquin We are devoted to making sure your life in the undergraduate apartments are as fun and satisfying as humanly possible.

Eligibility Must be a resident in the undergraduate apartment during the year of expected executive term Must submit their declaration of candidacy by the due date Must have least a 2.5 cumulative GPA by the end of Winter Quarter and provide unofficial transcript from GOLD Must be in good standing with R&CL judicial system

President Be the chief executive authority of SACC and serve as the presiding officer of the executive board and general assembly Serve as the official representative of SACC in all departmental, campus, and local non-university community matters and meetings Provide resources for volunteer opportunities to the Apartments community Coordinate volunteer fundraising initiatives in conjunction with the Treasurer Appoint executives to lead SACC programming committees for Fall quarter and lead the recruitment process for representatives Reach out to Associated Students to arrange for a representative to be present at General Assembly meetings Run the elections process in conjunction with the Publicity Chair Meet biweekly with the SACC advisor or complex coordinator Have signature authority on event approvals and check requests if the Treasurer is unable to perform this duty

Vice President Serve as a proxy for SACC affiliated meeting and lead assembly meetings in case the President is not available Serve as the liaison between all educational offices on campus (CAPS, Women’s Center, RCSGD, etc.) and SACC Serve as the educational voice of reasoning regarding event planning Serve as the liaison between the Resident Assistants and SACC by attending one meeting with the RA staff from each apartment area Act as the chair of the Constitution Committee Meet three times a quarter with SACC advisors Shall be the liaison between SACC and all OSL approved student groups concerning SACC-funded education donation requests Take requests for special ADA considerations Serve as the President should the office become vacant until a new President is elected

Treasurer Serve as the financial officer of SACC Act as a liaison between RHA and SACC by attending an RHA meeting once a month Meet with SACC advisors three times per quarter Check SACC box twice a week Maintain and publish accurate records of all financial proposals or approved budget allocations Ensure that google tracking forms are up to date Ensure that individuals use the budget tracker upon submitting a check request form Create quarterly report of SACC finances / financial overview and submit to the Assistant Director of Housing & Residential Services Coordinate one volunteer fundraising initiatives per academic year

Secretary Record meeting minutes for each executive and general assembly meeting using agenda format Monitor attendance of executive board and general assembly members At each General Assembly Meeting, provide copies of an agenda for advisors, representatives, and other executives to view Responsible for monitoring feedback received online from residents and reporting to Advisors, Executive Board, and at General Assembly meetings   Serve as the second executive member on the Constitution Committee Post  meeting minutes to the SACC website Meet with SACC advisors three times per quarter Register SACC as a student organization on the website of the Office of Student Life and maintain that gateway of information Regularly check the SACC email and communicate with RA’s, representatives, and residents who may email us for funding requests Email meeting minutes to the Executive Board, Assistant Complex Coordinator, Complex Coordinator, and Advisors within 48- hours after the meeting’s conclusion

Publicity Chair Responsible for creating flyers with the timeline of 3 weeks before an event and have the flyer completed within two weeks of the program Responsible for creating, printing, and cutting flyers and distributing them to the representatives Maintain website upkeep, which will include uploading pictures of events and flyers, as well as updating the calendar Responsible for posting on the social media platforms, primarily Instagram and Facebook. There must be a minimum of 3 posts per week on social media Assist the President in managing the elections process Responsible for all branding of the organization Collaborate with Advisor on the Shorebreak monthly Meet with SACC advisors three times per quarter
