Presentation transcript:

Starter of the day What is your spirit Animal? Why is it your spirit Animal? Where were the pacific Northwestern Native American’s located? Why were they able to produce the art that they did? What colors do you want to use for your painting? Draw an image in the Pacific Northwestern Native American style.

Art B Day 13 Spirit Animals

Agenda Go over review of last time. Go over demonstration on how to paint your Pacific Northwestern Native American spirit animal painting. Draw your chosen animal onto the board. Begin painting.

Last time Last time in class we talked about who the Pacific Northwestern Native Americans were. We then talked about how they were able to make art and why. Once done we selected animals that were native to Utah as out spirit animals and began drawing thumbnails. Lastly we experimented with the acrylic paint to make the colors we desired.

The In Class Assignment You should be drawing your animal onto your board today. Once it is done being drawn you will begin painting in acrylic paint. Each shape should be a solid color and the colors should have meaning to the chosen spirit animal.

Final Project Step 1: Paint board with Gesso (let dry) Step 2: Draw your image lightly on the gessoed board. Step 3: Paint in shapes and patterns of your animal with acrylic paint. Step 4: Fill out Artist Statement and Rubric. Turn in.
