BIG Question we are looking at… Can significant change happen without violence? Emphasis for this question will be on JUSTIFYING your answer with evidence To get your feet wet on this very important aspect of research

What you’ll be doing today: Defining and expanding on the word DISSENT Outlining factors or circumstances that would push you to take significant action towards something Examining the Arab Spring of 2011- Present Looking at timeline of events Images of the movement Video on how Social Media impacted these revolutions By end of period Creating a list of criteria (reasons) why and how dissent happens Redefining the term dissent in your own words

Expectations for Today Video Analysis, Individual Work and Discussion Work Individual Work: Silent when writing/reflecting individually Conversation(s): Focus on question or task with partner Floor- One person at a time- raise hand with comment or question Video Analysis: Focus on video (heads up, body upright-YOU CANNOT SLEEP) Purposefully annotating where appropriate
