Today’s Objectives You will present your compare & contrast paragraphs to the class so that your peers can view a variety of rhetorical methods and analyses and add them to your repertoire of writing strategies You will acquire the necessary background knowledge about the Black Death by submitting a mini-research paper employing the school databases and correct source attribution You will investigate the advanced words present in “The Masque of Red Death” in order to facilitate comprehension of the story by creating flashcards and taking notes based on your classmate’s analysis
Library on Thursday For the second part of the period on Thursday we will be going to the library to CHECK OUT BOOKS! Bring any $ you owe Everyone needs to check out a book (or have one to read) Beginning next week your homework will be to read the book you chose and create a project You will be required to AR test on the book as well I will give the details on Thursday concerning what books will be suitable for the project and what the project guidelines are exactly

Day 2: Characteristics of Respect Write, stand up, pair up, and share For each of the following items students will write up their thoughts, stand up, pair up, and discuss. Describe ways you have acted respectfully or disrespectfully this week. How does your attitude contribute to respecting others? Make a list of people you think are respectful and why you added them to your list. Think of someone who is respectful and talk about why they would be a good friend. Discuss why acting respectful is important.
