Industrial Revolution Transformation or change in society from small farms and handmade production to large scale machine based production in factories.

Agriculture Process of farming fields and domesticating animals The industrial revolution lead to the growth of farms and faster production of food.

Capital (Hint: not a city) Money used to invest or start new businesses

Entrepreneurs People who start their own businesses and assume financial risk if it fails

Urbanization Movement of people to cities to work in factories.

Social Classes Groups of people defined and categorized by their wealth and social status Low, Middle, Upper Class

Labor Unions Organizations formed by workers so they can negotiate better pay and contracts

Class struggle Arguments/disagreements between social classes, usually involves the rich intentionally keeping the poor in a low class Lower class can not move up to middle class

Communism Social structure where everyone is economically equal and there is no social classes.
