Slab building

Slab Pressed or rolled flat sections of clay Slabs can be attached to one another to make vessels and structures

Building with Slabs

Concept Research ceramic slab forms on the internet Create an original form/design that: Is NOT a box Is built using Stiff (hard) slabs Is complex Does not exceed 12 inches in height (more than 3 inches) Can be GEOMETRIC or ORGANIC Has all included slabs a ¼” in thickness If you find a form that is GEOMETRIC, you will most likely need to use a template.

Template – a shaped piece of metal, wood, card, plastic, or other material used as a pattern for processes such as painting, cutting out, shaping, or drilling. Use a template to ensure consistency in measurements and connections
