FQ: How can I draft a clear and well-organized body paragraph that accurately reflects my sources? Warm up: Please take out your textbook, notebook, evidence-source list, and paraphrases. HW: Typed, printed copy of body paragraph for Demonstrate section due next class. We will be using it for peer review.

Copy these upcoming deadlines into your planner Thurs, 1/6: Typed, printed body paragraph due in class Mon, 1/9: typed, printed, complete rough draft of comprehensive outline due in class Tues, 1/17: Final Research Project (comprehensive outline including body paragraph, works cited page, and final reflection) due on turnitin.com by 10 pm Wed, 1/18: Printed research project and source materials due in class for expo Fri, 1/20: final class and course reflection

Reading the model paragraph Read over the model paragraph of the demonstration section and answer the following questions: 1. What are some of the things that you have already done? 2. What are some of the things that you still need to do? 3. What questions does reading the model raise for you? 4. What concerns does it raise for you?

Independent work: drafting body paragraphs Look back at your topic sentence. Check that it contains the main idea of the paragraph AND the type of evidence you will be referencing in the paragraph. Introduce your source and the credentials of its author. Add transitions to move smoothly into your paraphrased evidence. Be sure you are indicating direct quotations with quotation marks. Add in-text citations at the end of paraphrased evidence. If you have more than one source for the paragraph, repeat steps 2-4.
