Question: Why was Lindow Man killed in such a strange way?  Lindow Man died in such a strange way because he was sacrificed. P He was killed violently like the other bodies. E  They were all killed the same way.

Question: Why was Lindow Man killed in such a strange way?  Lindow Man died in such a strange way because he was sacrificed. P  Lindow Man’s body was about 2,500 years old and his throat was cut. Cornelius Tacitus, a Roman living around the same time, described human sacrifices to a Goddess Mother. Professor Glob, a historian of the same period, said that throat cutting was part of a ceremony to release blood to the Mother Goddess. E  Lindow Man’s slit throat and the period in which he was killed connects his death with those described by Tacitus and Professor Glob. This evidence shows that he was killed as a sacrifice.

E  Lindow Man was hit over the head, strangled and then had his throat cut from ear to ear. He was frightened and lost because he did not know what was happening to him. Imagine being Lindow Man and getting killed just to please a Goddess. Clearly someone really wanted him dead.
