Did you get it? What is a more common for each type of operon – the gene non-repressed state or the repressed state? What type of operon would be used for anabolic reactions (reactions that make new molecules)? Which type of operon would be used for catabolic reactions (reactions that break down other molecules)? Are operons examples of positive or negative feedback? Compare and contrast inducible and repressible operons. Describe how the Trp operon works. What type of operon is this? Describe how the lac operon works. What type of operon is this? What purpose do operons serve? That is, why is the expression of genes controlled?
