Behavioral Determinant Physical Activitiy and diet Physical activity is a key factor for health and wellbeing. Along with healthy eating, participating in regular physical activity is essential to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Physical inactivity is associated with an increased risk of ill-health and death, and has been linked to increased rates of overweight and obesity, cardiovascular disease, some cancers and depression. Behavioral determinant Oral health The Victorian Government is committed to raising awareness of the impacts of oral disease: The burden of oral disease comes from three main conditions: tooth decay, gum disease and oral cancer. Tooth decay is the most prevalent health problem, with half of all children and adolescents and over 90 per cent of adults affected. Moderate or severe gum disease affects more than one- quarter of the Victorian adult population. The prevalence of moderate to severe gum disease increases to 58 per cent among those aged 55 years and over. Oral cancer is one of the causes of disease burden in Victoria with an average of two new cases every day. The leading cancers of the mouth are cancers of the lips, tongue and oropharynx. Diet a Behavioral determinants. Healthy eating and nutritious food play a significant role in determining the health of individuals and the broader population, as well as the growth and development of children. Dietary risks have surpassed smoking as the leading factor for global disease burden. But better nutrition helps prevent the risk of obesity and chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dental disease and some cancers. What we eat is determined by availability and access to healthier foods, skills and knowledge about food selection and preparation, and a supportive social environment. Diet a Behavioral determinants.

SAFE SEX A behavioural determinant Sexually transmissible infections (STIs) are common all around the world. They may be caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites. You may think that only other people get STIs and that you are not at risk of catching one, but anybody who is sexually active can get an STI if they do not practice safe sex.
