Measurement Part 5 Temperature

Measurement-Part 5 Temperature All matter is made of tiny particles that are moving. Temperature is a measure of how fast the particles are moving.

There are three scales commonly used on thermometers: Kelvin (K) , Celsius (C) and Fahrenheit (F) Compare different temperatures on the three thermometers. What do you notice?

Which scale to use? TV weather people report daily temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit temperatures are the most common in our daily lives. The base unit for temperature in SI measurement is Kelvin. Degrees Celsius are most common in the metric system and in the science lab. We will measure in degrees Celsius.
