Learning Inventories How Do You Like to Learn?
What is a Learning Inventory? A Learning Inventory is a way to find out how each of us learns best. A man named Howard Gardner said we have 8 different “smarts.” We can have multiple “smarts.” Some are stronger than others, and we might have different “smarts” than our friends have. Everyone is different.

Word Smart You like to: Read and write Tell stories Talk about things
Math Smart You like to: Work with numbers Solve problems Ask HOW and WHY things work the way they do
Music Smart You like to: Listen to music Sing, hum, or play an instrument Clap or tap your foot to rhythms
Body Smart You like to: Play sports Do gymnastics Dance Move around
Nature Smart You like: Plants Animals Being outside
Self Smart You are good at: Knowing a lot about yourself Being by yourself Knowing what you are good at, and what you need to work on
People Smart You like to: Make friends Work in a group Be around people
Art Smart You like to: Draw Paint Take pictures

What Do My Answers Mean? At the bottom of our 2nd quiz we took, it explains what our answers mean. We will go over our answers together as a class, and discuss how we can use our “smarts” to help us learn better.
