Introduction Attention grabbing intro- quote, strong statement, question, etc... Intro first topic Basic explanation of topic #1 Intro topic #2 Basic explanation of topic #2 Intro topic #3 Basic explanation of topic #3 Thesis- include all three main points Note- Vague explanation sentences can be longer than one sentence. Also, you can use quotes or paraphrases as an explanation. B1 B2 B3

Body Paragraphs X3 Note- Sentences 2/3/4 and 5/6/7 are “sandwiches” Top bun- intro subtopic Meat- quote/paraphrase Bottom bun- explanation of example/quote/ paraphrase Topic/transition sentence Intro first subtopic EXAMPLE from play Explain example/quote/paraphrase Intro 2nd subtopic Sum up first topic Example 1 Example 2

Conclusion Note- don’t underestimate the conclusion of a paper. Remember, this is the last thing the reader sees in your paper- LEAVE A POSITIVE IMPRESSION!! RESTATE- not rewrite, the thesis sentence Re-explain topic 1 Elaborate on topic 1 Re-explain topic 2 Elaborate topic 2 Re-explain topic 3 Elaborate on topic 3 Sum up the entire paper- can be more than one sentence long.
