Danger and/or stop-> Common equipment or occurrences in a lab -Fire protection equipment -Containers of flammable liquids -Stop bars and switches on machinery -Fire alarm boxes -fire exit signs Common safety problems include: disease, accidents, horseplay, violence, slipping and falling, chemical and gas exposure, and hearing loss. Safety is important because we need to avoid all those issues!! OSHA? The laws consist primarily of federal and state statutes. Federal laws and regulations preempt state ones where they overlap or contradict one another. The main statute protecting the health and safety of workers in the workplace is the Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA).
