1. CAREER EXHIBITIONS 2012/2013/2014 Target: 5/19/2019 1. CAREER EXHIBITIONS 2012/2013/2014 Target: The target set for the financial year 2012/2013 was participation in nine exhibitions, i.e. one per province. Actual: A total of 63 Career Exhibitions were attended in 2012/2013; Exhibitions ranged from industry specific, to commercial exhibitions and career fairs in regional centres, rural areas and peri-urban areas. Presidential nodal areas both urban and rural received priority Target: 2013/2014 Exhibitions in nine provinces i.e. one per province To date the HWSETA has exhibited at 23 career exhibitions in this financial year

3. EVENTS AND SPECIAL DAYS Career Development was also promoted at over 10 events to commemorate/celebrate special days/months which included, among others: International Nurses Day, National Youth Day, International Mandela Day, National Women’s month, World Aids Day, World Disability Day, 16 Days of Activism, World Alzheimer's Day, Human Rights Day and many other special and commemorative days.

4. AWARENESS AT DISABILITY CENTRES/CAREER PUBLICATIONS Awareness Creation Various Centres for Persons with Disabilities were visited to promote Health and Social Development Careers. Among others were: Oasis Skills Development Centre in Upington in the North West province; Fundisa Special School in King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape province; Mason Lincoln Special School in Durban, Umlazi in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province; Lukhanyo Adult Centre in Cradock (Lingelihle) in the Eastern Cape province; Malebogo Centre for persons with Disabilities in Malebogo (Tokologo) in the Free State province; and many other Centres. Publications Two versions of a booklet entitled ‘A Guide to Employing People with Disabilities’ s distributed at major stakeholder events during the year under review. 36 page Career Guide developed including a self assessment test A booklet entitled “Guide to Leaving School’ was produced in partnership with the National Association for Persons with Cerebral Palsy South Africa

Support for DHET career development initiatives A web based central events calendar to be hosted by DHET for career development initiatives HWSETA will continue to support DHET career fairs subject to availability of Human Capital and budget Joint career publication. To be managed by DHET.
