Yates and Hoben need 10 minutes or so to explain the switch away from Notebooks to Folders New folder system!!

On the paper provided, your team will write down all the things you can remember about the executive branch of Government. The team with the most accurate facts WINS!! 10-15 minutes to let them write things down and discuss/review the Exec Branch The executive branch

The United States Government is made up of three separate and equal branches each with their own powers. Legislative – Makes Laws Executive – Enforces Laws Judicial – Interpret Laws Separation of Powers

No single branch of government has much more power than the other two = balanced. Each branch was given powers to check or STOP the other two. This idea here was to prevent any of the branches from becoming too strong. Checks and balances

The legislative branch has Two Houses of Congress House of Representatives Senate 435 members based on each states population Represent the people who live in their districts Resident of the US for 7 years Must be 25 100 members – 2 per state Represent their entire state Resident of the US for 9 years Must be 30 A few minutes to hit the high points (I plan on pointing out that we call the Leg Branch CONGRESS in this country only The legislative branch has Two Houses of Congress
